Meghan Markle 'puts back podcast after King Charles' olive branch'

Meghan Markle has put back the date of her next podcast episode following King Charles III's olive branch to her and Prince Harry, it has been reported.

The New York Times' celebrity website Page Six says that the Duchess of Sussex has also shelved plans to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and a scheduled visit to the UN General Assembly with Prince Harry after the Queen's death, reports the Daily Star.

Her appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, planned for Tuesday, September 20, would have come just weeks after her bombshell interview with The Cut, in which she said she was happy to have quit Britain. Her decision came shortly after the tearful king said during his first address to the nation as the new sovereign on Friday that he wished to "express his love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas".

The Duchess was due to be in New York City with Prince Harry to appear before the 77th session of the UN General Assembly on the same day. But those plans have been put on hold ahead of the Queen's state funeral on September 19.

Her hugely popular podcast, Archetypes, was launched on August 23 and has been released every Tuesday since then, with the last one released on September 6. However, she is planning to postpone the release of the next episode, according to Page Six.

The couple had arrived back in London from their European tour and were together in Frogmore Cottage in Windsor when news of the Queen's ailing health broke. Prince Harry rushed to Balmoral but arrived after the Queen's death had been publicly announced.
