Meghan Markle will be "an inspiration to many" after delivering an empowering and passionate speech at the Women of Vision Awards.
The Duchess of Sussex, 41, urged women to "be the visionary of your own life" as she accepted her award and insisted it's "never too late to start".
Speaking to the audience, Meghan said: "It's just never too late to start. You can be the visionary of your own life.
"You can charter a path in which what you repeat in your daily acts of service, in kindness, in advocacy, in grace and in fairness, that those become the very things that are recognised by the next wave of women."
A PR expert has told The Mirror Meghan used her speech to give young girls an important lesson.
"Meghan is seen as an inspiration to many who look up to her. Her speech will inspire young girls, who will be the next wave of women which she referred to," PR to the stars Mayah Riaz said.
She added: "Meghan shared an important message about how we can all be the visionary of our own lives, which I believe is something young women need to hear.
"Especially in a day and age where it is far too easy to see others as such, but not recognise that it can be ourselves. However, the Duchess wasn't just speaking to young girls as she mentioned it is never too late to start.
"Meghan is encouraging them to charter their own path, as she has. Touching on ways which she has done so 'in kindness, in advocacy, in grace and in fairness'."
Meghan was supported by both her husband Prince Harry and mother Doria Ragland as she attended the glitzy award ceremony.
During her speech, the actress shared an anecdote about her childhood and Mayah suggested this shows "her mother is a huge inspiration for her".
"It was great to see Meghan being accompanied not just with Harry but also with her mother Doria.
"We know Meghan is very close to her mother and it was fitting that for an awards ceremony which is about inspiration and feminism, Doria was there.
"Meghan touched on her childhood in her speech, mentioning seeing the magazine in her house. It is without doubt that for Meghan, her mother is a huge inspiration for her."
The Duchess was the picture of elegance as she wore a stunning gold strapless gown which has a retail value of $1,850 (£1482).
She paired the dress with strappy gold heels from Tom Ford worth $1,350 (£1,081) and a matching Carolina Herrera clutch bag, priced at $1,100 (£881).
Mayah said: "The dress, which she had adjusted by removing the straps is called 'Ideal Universe' and is by the Columbian designer Johanna Ortiz. It suited Meghan perfectly as she glowed."
