A woman who attended Windsor Castle with mourners for the late Queen has been criticised after seeming to ignore Meghan Markle's greetings to well-wishers. The Queen's granddaughter-in-law went out to greet crowds after they gathered at the Berkshire residence of the late sovereign.
She was accompanied by her husband, Harry, his brother, William, and William's wife, Kate. After the apparent snub was shared on social media, people praised the former actor for her cool and calm reaction, reports MirrorOnline.
The incident was a rare appearance for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the UK, as they are now US-based. The two royal couples were reunited to pay their respects to mourners on Saturday (September 10).
But if the footage is anything to go by, the Duchess' meeting and greeting did not go down very well with some. As Meghan passed a few people, one woman was captured lowering her head as if to ignore her and avoid her gaze.
The woman then lifted her head and gave the Duchess of Sussex a look, before laughing. Other mourners in the crowd also looked like they were ignoring Meghan, with one person withdrawing their hand, and another putting on sunglasses.
The rude reactions were shared on social media, but were met with mixed comments.
Isadora @IsadoraDaniella was horrified at the incident, tweeting: "Omg the woman with the white hair and fringe, her face reeks! I don’t know how Megan done it, I wish someone would try and hug her or something so she knows not everyone there dislikes her."
Check @Chyke11 adds: "Disgusting! Atrocious behaviour and bad energy from these people will never stop."
Giant @RedGiantHipHop didn't have much sympathy, however, saying: "So what, she joined the firm, she knew what she was getting herself into."
T77 @FamilyHug4045 had a similar reaction, saying: "Why do you guys care so much? You all know they don’t like her, so this shouldn’t be a shock."
