Meghan Markle determined to fight her way back to the top and 'prove the haters wrong'

Meghan Markle reportedly has no plans to give up with the building of her media empire after suffering a series of failures in recent weeks.

The former Suits actress, 41, has seen her career take a number of blows after her Archetypes podcast was scrapped after just one season and a Spotify executive dubbed her and Prince Harry as a pair of "grifters".

The accusation that the royals had swindled their way to their $20m Spotify deal came after it was reported that they had only produced 13 hours of content for the streaming giant which allegedly left bosses displeased.

In the same week it emerged that Taylor Swift turned down a personal invitation from Meghan Markle to appear on her now scrapped podcast throwing the couple's relevance and star pulling power into question, the Mirror reports.

Meghan apparently wrote a "personal letter" to Swift asking her to come on to Archetypes as a guest "but the singer declined, through a representative", the Telegraph reports.

However, it's now emerged that Meghan won't be sitting back and mourning her recent setbacks but is instead already planning her next steps to be financially independent after leaving the Royal Family in 2020.

A source told Closer Magazine: "The thinking on Meghan's part is that they owe it to themselves to fight back and make a success of things, however much that costs and however challenging it may be in some cases.

"She's told the team that her new plan simply can't fail."

The source claims that the Duchess of Sussex is determined to "prove the haters wrong" and come back swinging.

They continued: "She feels she's been backed into a corner - her next move will be explosive to say the least."

The couple are said to have faced fresh disappointment earlier this week as their application to trademark the word "Archetypes" was denied.

Harry and Meghan had submitted an application to get exclusive rights to "Archetypes", but the US Patent and Trademark Office rejected their claim.

The Duke and Duchess has filed the application to try and secure exclusive use of their podcast for "downloadable audio recordings and podcasts" and anything related to the "cultural treatment of women and stereotypes facing women."

However, officials refused to accept their request due to the "likelihood of confusion" with an existing brand.

The Sussexes' lawyer, Marjorie Witter Norman has now applied for an extra three months to prepare another application.
