While Meghan Markle and Prince William don't seem to have a lot in common - they are both fans of an unexpected sport. It initially seemed that the Duchess of Sussex would have a close relationship with her brother-in-law during the early days of 'the Fab Four', but communications broke down, tensions emerged and Prince Harry stopped being a work royal.
However, the Sussexes put their differences with the Prince and Princess of Wales aside after the death of Queen Elizabeth II when they greeted people who had gathered to pay their respecsts outside of Windsor Castle. It remains to be seen whether the two couples will start to forge a closer relationship in the future, but they could find common ground with a shared hobby.
William and Meghan are both boxing lovers - with the pair both taking part in training in the past.
The former Suits actress has previously been coached by Jorge Blanco, personal trainer to rap artist Drake and Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, her coach said: "I trained Meghan when she was in Toronto during the shooting of the series Suits.
"We did a little bit of martial arts, a little boxing, and sometimes kickboxing.
"I never really thought she could end up being a princess! I had a great time training with her because she’s super nice and speaks Spanish, with an Argentine accent."
As for William, he was seen pulling on some gloves at the Olympic Park in Startford last week to mark the 10th anniversary of a sports coaching charity.
The heir to the throne smiled as he threw some punches with a few words of guidance from two of the young people working with Coach Core.
The now independent charity was set up by the Royal Foundation in 2012 in response to the London riots and to carry on the legacy ideals of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
William proved he could be pretty handy in the ring as he showed off his boxing prowess - and one of the attendees revealed the Prince has previous experience.
Revealing why Wills had such good technique, they said: "He told me he had done a bit before. He had a few skills under his belt."
It seems a love of boxing runs in the family as Prince Harry is also a big fan of the sport - and admitted it "really saved" him.
In August this year, Harry spoke about his love of boxing on Bryony Gordon 's Mad World podcast.
"Everyone was saying boxing is good for you and it's a really good way of letting out aggression," he shared.
"And that really saved me because I was on the verge of punching someone, so being able to punch someone who had pads was certainly easier."
Meghan also has another hobby which she shares with her husband - a love of hiking.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are regularly seen enjoying a hike with their dogs on public trails in LA.
They are also massive fans of polo, with Meghan striking up a close friendship with Delfina Blaquier, who is married to Harry's polo teammate Nacho Figeras.
In June this year, Delfina posted a snap of herself and Meghan at the polo and revealed what they get up to together in their spare time.
"Can't wait to see you again soon, to share thrill, hikes, and just more chill time," she wrote.
"Getting to spend time together over these two months was so special. I wish everyone knew you the way you are."
