Prince Harry is the "driving force" behind the Royal Family drama, despite Meghan Markle being seen as "the wicked witch".
The Sussexes have finally announced their Coronation decision, with the Duke returning to the UK alone while his wife remains in California with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Their decision comes amid claims Harry will receive a "frosty reception" at the historic event as a result of the fallout from his tell-all memoir Spare.
Royal author Robert Jobson believes Harry's "petulance" is to blame for his feud with his family, despite Meghan being the one who is often criticised.
"I think a lot of this is down to Harry and his petulance.
"At the end of the day, she's probably a little scared to come here and get booed and picked on and it would become a tabloid issue, a major big issue that really would detract from the Coronation," Robert said.
The author suggested Harry is often spared from criticism due to him being Princess Diana's son.
He continued: "But I think he probably is more of a driving force."
Speaking on TalkTV, Robert added: "He's somebody who's quite determined. He's got his mother's determination there and he's got his father's determination, too.
"Look, I'm not saying that Meghan's faultless, but she's certainly not the wicked witch."
He continued: "I think a lot of the problem with Meghan came from her 'untruth bombs', as I called them, on Oprah Winfrey which was littered with - dare I say it - lies. Things that weren't true.
"Even the Archbishop of Canterbury had to correct them on saying they'd had a secret marriage and he said well no he didn't otherwise I'd be in hot water."
Robert suggested: "Maybe a lot of it was down to [being] lost in translation, I don't know I'm not American."
The Palace confirmed Prince Harry's attendance at the Coronation in a statement earlier this week.
" Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.
"The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
Robert has said it's "a good decision" for Harry to go alone.
"I think it's a pragmatic decision that obviously the Sussexes made together. She's not coming, looking after the kids, the kids are very young and I think that's wise as well."
