Meghan appears with Netflix boss and his wife at event weeks after streaming giant dropped her show

Meghan Markle turned heads with an eye-popping chartreuse green silk gown at a Netflix bash hosted by the streamer's boss Ted Sarandos this weekend.

Meghan, 44, appeared at the event in Montecito, California, alongside her husband Prince Harry, just weeks after Netflix dropped her lifestyle show ‘With Love, Meghan’ and her jam-selling venture As Ever.

The streaming firm had partnered with As Ever when it launched last year.

Figures showed earlier this year that the Duchess’s Netflix show failed to crack the top 1,000 most-watched programmes on the platform.

Sarandos himself appeared to unfollow the Duchess of Sussex and As Ever on Instagram, despite being one of the highest-profile names to follow her when she returned to social media last year.

But there were no signs of discord this weekend as Meghan socialised with Sarandos' wife Nicole Avant at Netflix's BEEF Season 2 Montecito Tastemaker event, The Telegraph reports.

Other stars at the event included former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau and his new girlfriend, singer Katy Perry, Riverdale star Charles Melton and British actress Carey Mulligan.

On social media, users were quick to praise Meghan's green gown, from California brand Heidi Merrick.

One person wrote: "Love Prince Harry and Megan so much. Love her style and that colour is gorgeous on her!"

A second person posted: "Oh Duchess, that colour is divine on you".

A third fan wrote: "They look so gorgeous... Meghan in colour is beautiful,” while yet another added: "She is always on point. I love the colour. Love it."

Sarandos was promoted to joint-CEO of Netflix in 2020, after previously serving as chief content officer.

He was said to be one of the driving forces behind the Netflix partnership with the couple's production company Archewell in 2020, when they signed a five-year deal worth $100m (£75m).

Sarandos, who is based in Montecito, is understood to have encouraged executive to launch a “big talent land grab” with the Sussexes, but their main contribution to the streamer was the successful 2022 Harry & Meghan documentary.

Archewell productions such as Live to Lead and Polo made almost no impact, while a planned children's programme called Pearl was cancelled before ever taking off.

Sarandos chose not to renew the couple’s deal when it expired last year, although Netflix aired ‘With Love, Meghan’, in which the duchess shared her talents for flower-arranging and baking, while chatting to guests.
