Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have come under fire after taking a series of swipes at their former home Nottingham Cottage in candid scenes from their new Netflix documentary.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were gifted the cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace – where other members of the Royal Family including Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales were living.
Harry had grown up inside Kensington Palace with his mum, Diana, Princess of Wales but other members of the family had described the royal residence as the place where "the aunties live".
Despite being gifted Nottingham Cottage by the late Queen Elizabeth, Harry's grandmother, the couple have taken a swipe at their former home.
In episode four of Harry & Meghan, their bombshell Netflix series, Meghan described the residence as "small".
"It sounds very regal but Nottingham Cottage was so small," the former Suits actress said before Harry went on to add that it was "lean" with "low ceilings."
The former military serviceman continued: "As far as people were concerned we were living in a palace. [But] we were living in a cottage. On palace grounds.
"Kensington Palace sounds very regal of course, it does say palace in the name. But Nottingham Cottage was small."
Meghan went on to claim that Harry continually banged his head against the ceilings due to his height.
Since the clip aired, people have taken to social media to blast the couple, with one commenting: "But they had tea in the Dolls House?!" after one clip showed the pair filming inside the Queen's dolls house on the Windsor estate.
"People are freezing to death," said another with an angry emoji.
Before a third tweeted: "Those two ungrateful greedy idiot clowns. Meghan & Harry complain about Nottingham Cottage? The very same building that once upon a time been Prince William and Princess Catherine's home?? Who do they think they are????"
"Footage of their first couple of engagements. Now they're complaining how small Nottingham cottage was," fumed a fourth.
The couple went as far as to say that American television personality Oprah Winfrey was left stunned by the size of their home, claiming "no one would ever believe it!"
In the second instalment of the three episodes, Meghan claims she was "fed to the wolves" and their security was pulled, with people knowing their every move.
Prince Harry sensationally slammed his older brother, William, claiming that "they" "lied to protect Prince William", although he failed to disclose who he meant by "they".
