Meghan and Harry 'proved they wanted to hijack' William and Kate's US trip, says expert

Following the release of the trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan's explosive Netflix documentary series, experts have made it clear that the clash between the announcement and The Prince and Princess of Wales' trip to the US for the Earthshot Prize did not go unnoticed. One royal commentator has gone as far to say that the Sussexes hoped to "hijack" Prince William and Kate's important visit.

The one-minute clips shows a series of black and white photographs and we can hear Harry say: "No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors… I had to do everything I could to protect my family". While Meghan adds: "When the stakes were this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?"

Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan will go to any length to overshadow The Prince and Princess of Wales.

He told Us Weekly: "When did the Royal Family become the Kardashian and who is the driving force behind that because I have to say I think it's time she stops.

"I have to say this trailer is everything we expected and worse. I think it shows just a high drama that Netflix and Meghan and Harry plan to make of this.

"To drop it as they have on the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales' trip to the US for the Earthshot prize shows just exactly how much they wanted to hijack publicity. It just shows I think how much they will go to any end at all for as much publicity as possible.

"They will jump on his own brother's trip to promote these environmental prizes in order to steal that limelight and get more attention because what is comes down to is they only get attention due to their association with the Royal Family.

"They're continuing to prove that in the way they're promoting the Netflix program."

The six-part series is being released in two parts, the first next Thursday (December 8), the three-month anniversary of the Queen's death.

The second will be released a week later on December 15, the day of The Princess of Wales' second carol concert at Westminster Abbey which will also serve as a memorial to the late Queen.

Speaking about the perception of the trailer, one palace source told the Daily Mail : "I don't see how anyone could view it as anything other than a declaration of war."

While another added: "None of this is a surprise", and that the timing of the trailer's release had not gone unnoticed by palace staff.

Harry and Meghan will reportedly reach out to their family despite the attacks (Netflix)

Despite their series of attacks and ahead of the release of Prince Harry's upcoming memoir 'Spare', the couple have reportedly spoken about reaching out to the Royal Family when the smoke finally clears.

Sources say the couple have spoken about "reaching out" to Harry's estranged relatives after the "inevitable furore" around the projects has died down. One source told Daily Mail : "The trouble is when it comes to the Sussexes and these revenge projects that they are so hell-bent on, people are asking when will enough be enough?

"It’s not unreasonable in the circumstances to ask whether they are even interested in repairing their relationships with the family."
