Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about how she needs to take a break from her career following a reported break-in to her Los Angeles home that saw over $300,000 worth of property stolen.
The rapper is set to host, and perform on, live sketch show Saturday Night Live this week but it's not all career highs with her having to deal with major material losses from the Thursday night break in.
Taking to Twitter Megan addressed the incident with her fans, she tweeted three separate tweets.
The first simply read: "Wow".
Expressing gratitude that nobody was physically hurt she then wrote: "Material things can be replaced but I’m glad everyone is safe".
In a third tweet Megan wrote: "Hotties im really sorry but after SNL I really gotta take a break I’m so tired, physically and emotionally"
According to a TMZ report two men, wearing hoodies and gloves, allegedly smashed a glass door at the back of Megan's home on Thursday night and targeted the Savage singer's bedroom.
The source claimed that $300-$400K in jewellery, cash and electronics were taken from inside the home.
Megan was reported to not have been at the property at the time, with the rapper due to host SNL this weekend it is likely that she has been in New York City since at least Tuesday.
It's been a very busy year for Megan with a number of career highs, she's appeared on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and twerked with a Halo character.
Megan has also appeared on magazine front covers and headlined festivals around the world, started a mental health resource website, announced a new tour and brought out a new album.
As her career continues to thrive the rapper has also undergone the long legal proceedings that have followed her accusing Tory Lanez of shooting her in 2020.
Before news of the break-in broke Megan was publicly excited about taking on the challenge of being both the host and the musical guest this weekend at Saturday Night Live.
When a fan asked how she was feeling about it, Megan replied: "Im on break at rehearsals rn I’m excited AF".
The star was also celebrating her nomination at the American Music Awards for Favourite Female Hip-Hop Artist.
Megan is now insisting that she needs a break from work as she's both physically and emotionally tired.
