Megan Jones, instrumental in England’s Women’s Rugby World Cup win, says the sport helped her embrace who she really is, as she features on The Independent’s Influence List this International Women’s Day.
The England centre says the sport has allowed her to express herself in ways she never thought she could, especially in her childhood years.
The 29-year-old said: “I think being a young, boisterous, tomboy girl, I perhaps didn’t fit into a lot of places. Rugby has just allowed me to fully express myself and fit in, and celebrate those boisterous attributes.”
