A palatial home at Speers Point with 1132 square metres of internal floor space looks set to become the most expensive residential property sold in Lake Macquarie.
The five-bedroom mansion at 334 The Esplanade hit the market on November 9 and is expected to sell in the vicinity of $10 million.
Boasting a wide frontage and lake views, the home includes an internal pool set behind two curved polished concrete staircases.
Selling agent Anthony Di Nardo of Belle Property said the property is unlike any other he has sold.
"This is on another level," Mr Di Nardo said.
"The land size alone is 2078 square metres, so when you look at the quality of the building, it is phenomenal.
"It is out of this world."
The highest price paid for a house in the Lake Macquarie region is $6.15 million, however this was set on a resort-style acreage on 91 hectares in Martinsville in 2019.
Mr Di Nardo set the current suburb record in Speers Point with the sale of landmark property "The Knoll", also on The Esplanade, for $3.6 million in July 2021.
Since the construction of the home began in 2020, the eye-catching residence has drawn much curiosity from passers-by given the size of the property and its modern design.
Homeowner Satwinder Singh told the Newcastle Herald that he chose the block for the wide street frontage it offered and the views across Lake Macquarie.
"We used to live in Eleebana and it had a better view, uninterrupted, but this time we wanted something with the big frontage," Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh, who owns a string of service stations, and his wife Nafiza Nisha have lived in the area for 20 years.
The couple worked with Newcastle architects Doring Design and builder Richard Kolomy of Valentine Constructions to bring their vision for an ultra-modern family home to life.
"I worked with a lot of local suppliers and builders," Mr Singh said. "Basically all of the major work was done by local companies."
Set across two levels, the home features an oversized glass front door that opens into an entryway with two curved polished concrete staircases and a chandelier as the centrepiece.
Behind the staircase is the internal mineral pool (which allows the outdoors in through an openable roof that can be operated from a smartphone) with a spa, a sunken lounge with a fire pit and a slide.
Inside features a luxurious kitchen with a porcelain island bench and butler's pantry, an open-plan dining area and loungeroom, a bar and a home cinema.
Upstairs includes the master suite with ensuite and walk-in robe, with all rooms taking in the lake views.
The home is brimming with high-end features including an integrated Liebherr fridge and freezer, automated curtains and an EcoSmart bioethanol fireplace in the sitting room.
Other features include a custom-built infra-red sauna and an electronic car charging station in the garage.
The property also has decks both upstairs and downstairs with views across the lake.
It is the first home that the owners have built.
"It was my dream to build a big home. I wanted to build something for my wife," Mr Singh said.
"The build took close to two years but we moved in last July and have done a lot to it since."
The owners are moving to Sydney due to family circumstances and for new business opportunities.
Mr Singh said that it was "a little bit painful" to let go of the home after living in it for only 18 months.
"Whoever buys the house is a lucky person because we have done the hard work," he said.
"It is very difficult to build a home like this. There are a lot of headaches that come with it but I did enjoy it, and I learned a lot of things."
The property is open for inspection by appointment only on November 13.
