
With the campaigns for the UK’s upcoming general election on July 4 gathering at full speed, various government ministers have taken to the airwaves to outline the Conservative party’s plans, including defence secretary Grant Shapps.
Shapps, who has served as MP for Welwyn Hatfield since 2006, was appointed to the Ministry of Defence in August last year, replacing Ben Wallace after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak carried out a mini-reshuffle at the top of government.
