A teenager who once struggled to get out of bed during cancer treatment is now back in the pool, using the sport he loves to help children facing the same disease. Ethan Huynh, a 17-year-old student at Montverde Academy near Orlando, Florida, survived brain cancer after being diagnosed in 2023. He later returned to competitive swimming and turned his races into fundraising opportunities. At two Orlando swim meets, his efforts raised a combined $45,000 for cancer-related causes, according to WESH 2, a Central Florida NBC-affiliated news station that detailed Ethan's cancer journey, his return to swimming and his efforts to support other children fighting cancer.
