CHENNAI: If you enter the women medical officers’ hostel room in Chennai’s Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, you may mistake it for a five-star hotel room.
That’s how the hospital has given a makeover to the room which once had a simple look.
At a cost of ₹7.2 lakh, the hospital has put wooden flooring, cushioned sofas, and wooden beds with comfortable mattresses. They have also given LED lighting for the ceiling and coffee-table and wardrobe with lighting.
The room houses a TV fitted on a TV table with a dining-table and a separate sofa. Table fans and ACs too are fitted. Dean of the hospital Dr E Theranirajan said they are renovating two more rooms like that for the male medical officers.
Doctors said such arrangements will make it comfortable for the medical officers who are on an all-day duty and it will make them feel at home.
