Meaty argument: French court sides with vegetable sector in label case

Vegetarian steak can continue to be labelled as such after a French court delayed a government bid to ban the use of meat-related terms to describe products made from plants.

The prohibition was due to come into force on 1 October following a long campaign from French meat and livestock groups, seeking to uphold the country's famously fastidious conventions for the naming of food and drink.
