A cyclist was injured following a hit and run incident in Co Meath over the weekend.

The incident happened at 5am on Saturday, 28 January, when a male cyclist was travelling towards Dublin at Rathbeggan Village opposite Rathbeggan National School. The cyclist was struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was brought to hospital to be treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash. Gardai have confirmed that they are appealing for dashcam footage of the incident, and for any witnesses in the area to come forward.
