Meat Loaf loved coming north of the border to perform - and even called his dogs Scottish names.
Over the years the legendary singer, who sadly passed away on Thursday night, made plenty of hilarious memories for his army of fans here in Scotland.
With a huge back catalogue of hits including Paradise By the Dashboard Light, his songs were anthems for Scots karaoke stars up and down the country
So we've gathered some of the best Scots' Meat Loaf stories for you to enjoy.
Dallas-born Meat Loaf, whose real name was Marvin Lee Aday, released his debut album Bat Out Of Hell in 1977 and first played Glasgow's famed Apollo theatre in 1983.
During an Apollo show one of his fans leapt onto the stage and ended up diving back into the crowd.
Meat Loaf wore a kilt and then destroyed a small part of the set with a hammer, according to reports.
He recalled the height of its scary stage saying: “I remember playing the Glasgow Apollo. If you fell off the stage you’d still be falling.
“I couldn’t believe how high it was and it was a raked stage. If people don’t know what that means, it was on a slant
“I have all these little awards on the top of my bookshelf from the Apollo, about five of them for the most ticket sales in its history.”
During a performance of Bat Out of Hell at his gig in Edinburgh's Playhouse in 1982, Meat Loaf got a nosebleed as he sang a high note. He returned to the stage throwing out beers to the audience.
The singer also played Aberdeen's Capitol where one person recalled him shouting at people for still being in their seats after he had instructed the audience to stand up and dance. His last Scots gig was at Glasgow's SECC in April 2013.
The star revealed that his second wife Deborah Gillespie had Scottish ancestry, and they even called their West Highland terriers Angus and McKenna.
On social media lots of fans had fond memories of attending a Meat Loaf gig, remembering how he sweated all over them as he rocked out.
More recently Lewis Capaldi revealed he wanted Meatloaf to play him in a biopic.
He said “No prostheses, no CGI – I want him to look like Meat Loaf. I think he’s a handsome man.”
He later admitted: "I get told I look like Meat Loaf.
“Look, nothing wrong with Meat Loaf at all. Love him so much but he is getting on now.”
Other recalled going to seeing the legend in Glasgow following his heart attack with one person saying: "He came on stage in a hospital bed with lights beaming down on him and nurses around him was amazing."
