NEW DELHI: Following a pollution review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat with Environment Department officials, Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced the continuation of anti-pollution measures under GRAP IV regulations until further orders from the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
The ban includes BS-III petrol vehicles and BS-IV diesel vehicles, with restrictions on trucks, except those transporting essential goods, CNG, and electric trucks.
Minister Rai addressed the issue of firecrackers during Diwali, stating a ban on their production, storage, and sale in Delhi. He alleged that firecrackers were brought from UP and Haryana, blaming the BJP-controlled police for allowing their entry. Despite the rain reducing pollution levels to 215-220, targeted firecracker incidents in Delhi, UP, and Haryana raised pollution to 320.
