Measles Patient Visited Wheeling Hospital Emergency Room, Leaving Exposed Patients and Staff on Symptom Watch Into November

A person who visited the emergency department at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 17, has tested positive for measles, the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department said Tuesday. The patient is not from Ohio County or West Virginia, and officials released no further details for privacy reasons, The Intelligencer reported.

Wheeling Hospital and the health department are calling patients and staff who were identified as exposed that day. Those people will receive instructions on what to do next.
