It took Jimmy Rees a while to work the ACT into his Meanwhile in Australia routines during the pandemic but he's made amends, announcing a second Canberra show for his upcoming tour.
Rees, whose COVID-related videos went viral during the pandemic, has sold out shows across Australia and on Tuesday he announced a second show in Canberra.
He'll be here on July 24 with shows at 5pm (the new show) and 8pm and the performance will "star" all our favourite characters, including the Ladies of Brighton and the Guy Who Decides.
There's also a rumour the poop inspector might make an appearance which will be a nice Canberra twist as it was a tiff between Chief Minister Andrew Barr and then NSW deputy premier John Barilaro that kicked that character off back in August 2021. Barilaro blamed Canberrans for taking the virus to the coast after COVID fragments were detected in Merimbula sewerage.
Barr hit back, saying he was not interested in having "whose poo it was arguments" with the deputy premier.
Rees said he was sick of talking to himself on camera and was looking forward to touring.
"Over the past couple of years, you might have seen many random videos about many random things," he says.
"This new show will be just as random."
Rees has spent more than a decade as an Australian household name, having entertained the masses as a beloved television and radio personality, comedian, performer and now a viral internet success.
Meanwhile in Australia is up to part 51, the Guy Who Decides is talking about the election, who knows what the next few months will bring.
Rees is also hosting the ABC television series Tiny Things which recreates events in Australian history in miniature.
