McInnes on Rangers' transfer window and how Nico Raskin reacted

Rangers have secured "a lot of what they're after" in the transfer window, according to Derek McInnes.

The club completed deals for Stuttgart winger Badredine Bouanani and Kevin Kelsy, who joined from Portland Timbers for around £9 million, before the window closed on Thursday evening.

There were also bids for Nico Raskin, but he is expected to remain at the club for the season after no move to a top-five league and rejected bids from Besiktas.

McInnes said: "We targeted at the outset a little more experience. We wanted wide right options. We’ve managed to get a lot of what we’re after, not everything, but no manager will.

"Going forward as a club, we don’t want to be as busy in each window; we need to bring some calmness and stability. It’s important now to knuckle down on the job in hand with that clarity given the window’s open."

The club will now focus on their Scottish Premiership match against Motherwell tomorrow.

This follows their back-to-back wins against Falkirk and Aberdeen, the first time Rangers have achieved this all season.

On the addition of Bouanani, McInnes said: "Minsu, Gas, Findlay, Daisuke, it was important to get the best players for those positions, off the right has been an issue probably since Cerny left. Bouanani can hopefully bring quality and competition."

He also commented on Raskin's future, saying: "I've had many discussions with Nico, who just wants to concentrate now, work with us, and make the best of the situation."

McInnes also revealed Tuur Rommens has had a second scan and should be back to full training before the trip to Parkhead, a game he has a chance of making, while Dujon Sterling and Dan Neil return to the squad tomorrow.

Kelsy and Bouanani are both available for tomorrow's squad, the former trained yesterday with his new squad.

The meeting with Motherwell is the first of three straight home fixtures at Ibrox.

St Mirren will travel to Glasgow on Wednesday and next Sunday, McInnes' side will host the first Old Firm of the season, with no away fans in attendance after an SPFL statement confirmed those measures earlier today.
