McDonalds to launch new burger in January and fans hail it as 'game-changer'

Those starting Veganuary next month will be excited to hear that McDonald's have announced a brand new burger to its vegan menu.

It has been confirmed that the Double McPlant is set to make its debut in the UK and Ireland on January 4, 2023. After a long wait for a new vegan product, McPlant fans are ecstatic with the news.

The item is basically a McPlant, but with double the amount of Beyond Meat patties. The burger also includes fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, a vegan sauce and vegan cheese that McDonalds promises tastes 'just like McDonalds iconic cheese slices'.

The fast food giants have also stated that the Double McPlant is 'vegan certified'. This means that it is cooked separately from the other menu, with designated utensils.

Fans have flocked to social media to share their excitement after the announcement of the new vegan burger. One Twitter user wrote: "I need a double McPlant."

Another said: "I can't believe that the McDonald's beyond meat #mcplant the meat tastes more meaty than any McDonald's actual meat burgers."

And a third added: "Double McPlant is a game changer. I've really enjoyed it the couple of times I've had it, but it's just not big enough."

The Double McPlant joins the menu alongside other popular burgers with double the ingredients, like the Double Big Mac, Double Quarter Pounder and the Double and Triple Cheeseburgers.

The brand new vegan burger will be available UK-wide from January 4, 2023, for £4.89 individually, or £6.49 as a meal.
