McDonald's and Warren Buffett have some history.
The billionaire each day famously eats his breakfast at the fast-food chain, either "a sausage with egg and cheese, a bacon with egg and cheese or two sausage patties."
The Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) -) chief executive shared his morning routine in the HBO documentary about his life, "Becoming Warren Buffett." He picks up his McDonald's meal on the five-minute drive between his modest home and the Berkshire offices in Omaha.

"I tell my wife, as I shave in the morning, I say, 'Either $2.61, $2.95 or $3.17.' And she puts that amount in the little cup by me here [in the car]," he said in the HBO production.
"When I’m not feeling quite so prosperous, I might go with the $2.61, which is two sausage patties, and then I put them together and pour myself a Coke. $3.17 is a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, but the market’s down this morning, so I’ll pass up the $3.17 and go with the $2.95."
The billionaire, of course, does not need to worry about the market or anything else when it comes to how much he spends on breakfast, but Buffett is famously frugal. He's also a creature of habit, well-known for his Coke-drinking habit, which supports his company's investment in Coca-Cola (KO) -).
Berkshire does not currently own any McDonald's (MCD) -) stock. It does, however, own a brand that has forged an unlikely partnership with the fast-food giant. This unexpected new collaboration has resulted in two products that will join the McDonald's menu, but only in Canada.
McDonald's Adds a Squishmallow McFlurry, Happy Meal
Berkshire Hathaway acquired the Squishmallows plush-toy brand in 2022 when it bought its parent. The toys made a grand debut this year at the company's annual meeting, with plush figures made of Buffett and his longtime colleague, Berkshire Vice Chairman Charlie Munger.
Now, the Squishmallow brand has partnered with McDonald's to bring Buffett and his favorite breakfast chain together in a formal relationship.
The Oracle of Omaha, however, won't be able to get the new Squishmallows McFlurry or the Squishmallows Happy Meal in his home city as the new products are joining the chain's menu only in Canada.
The new lineup might get Buffett to hop on a plane (or perhaps have the chain put some on a plane for him).
"The Squishmallows McFlurry features the brand’s signature soft serve blended with pink popping candy, and blueberry flavored syrup," Chewboom reported.
Squishmallows and McDonald's' second collaboration sounds like a deal that will have eBay and other secondary-sales sites buzzing.
"In addition to the new Squishmallows McFlurry, McDonald’s is also releasing a new Squishmallows Happy Meal," the website added.
"Available for a limited time, each Squishmallows Happy Meal includes one of 10 music-themed Squishmallows toys, each with their own name and unique look. The toys will be offered in specially-themed Squishmallows Happy Meal boxes while supplies last."
McDonald's had viral success in the U.S. with its Cactus Plant Flea Market Happy Meals in October 2022.
These very-limited-edition Happy Meals featured toys that were new interpretations of classic McDonaldland characters including Grimace, Early Bird, and Hamburglar. The toys quickly became sought-after collector's items that went for high prices on third-party sites.
It could also be argued that the Cactus Plant Flea Market Happy Meals reignited fan interest in Grimace, which led to the chain launching its highly successful Grimace-themed shake earlier this year. That product became a social-media phenomenon and will likely be brought back by the company in the future.
