McDonald's makes permanent menu change with new McCrispy burger

Fans of McDonald's are used to menu changes when special burgers or chicken items are introduced for a limited time. Less common are permanent changes to the food and drinks offered by the fast-food giant.

But in seven days time, on Wednesday, October 19, a new burger is being launched and it's going to be staying for good. It's the McCrispy and the advertising campaign behind the new burger features TV presenter Maya Jama and other celebrities.

McDonald's says the McCrispy is the 'crispiest, crunchiest chicken burger'. Tt has 100% chicken breast fillet, marinated in black pepper and cayenne, with a four-inch glazed bun with a sweet nutty toasted flavour.

TV viewers will see the advert from next week which will feature celebrities in a McDonald's ad for the first time since 2022. Famous faces signed up include Maya Jama, comedian Leigh Francis, rapper Michael Dapaah and girl-boss gamer Elz the Witch.

Maya Jama said: "I love a chicken burger, and am a self-confessed chicken connoisseur, so when I found out that Maccies was launching this new burger, I had to get involved."

The McCrispy (£6.49 for an extra-value meal) is the first permanent chicken burger since 2007. It was sales tested in March 2022 as the Crispy McFillet to a select few in restaurants across the Midlands and proved to be one of McDonald's most successful trials to date.
