McDonald's is celebrating National French Fries Day by giving away free fries in any size to its loyal customers. On Thursday, July 13, the Golden Arches will be giving away small, medium or large fries to customers who walk into its participating stores.
No additional purchase is necessary - but you'll need to download and register on its app to be able to bag the freebie. But don't worry if you miss out, as McDonald's gives away medium-size fries for free every Friday with any $1 purchase when you order through its app.
A statement on this offer reads: "When you're ready to claim your free McDonald's Fries in the McDonald's app (with $1 minimum purchase), go to the deals tab and select the Free Fries Friday deal, then tap the "Add Deal to Mobile Order" button. Make your contactless payment using any major credit card. Your card will not be charged until you check in. You can add or remove a payment card using the Checkout and My Account screens.
"Check in at any participating McDonald's restaurant to pick up your free Fries (with $1 minimum purchase). Get them brought to you with curbside pickup, or grab it at your nearest McDonald's Drive Thru."
It comes after McDonald's created a limited-edition Grimace Birthday Shake, a drink honouring the chain's purple mascot on his 52th birthday. The purple milkshake was sold as part of Grimace's Birthday Meal on June 12, and went viral on social media as users created mini horror movies inspired by the colourful drink.
McDonald's latest offer is only available at participating American restaurants to celebrate National French Fries Day on Thursday, July 13.
