McDonald's fans say 2023 is 'ruined' as Wrap of the Day axed for some customers

McDonald's fans are saying their year has been 'ruined' after the chain scrapped its £1.99 Wrap of the Day deal for delivery customers. First introduced in 2011, the popular deal saw Big Flavour wraps slashed to £1.99 on certain days of the week, and it has long been a fan favourite.

But fast food lovers will have to get their fix instore now through click and collect if they want to enjoy the promotion, much to the disappointment of many.

Shocked by the change, several fans have taken to social media to share their upset. One fan wrote: "That feeling when @McDonalds stops their wrap of the day #yearruined."

Another thought: "@McDonalds sneaky getting rid of wrap of the day." Meanwhile, a third wrote: "In a living crisis? Fuming."

A different commenter said "no more Mcdonalds [sic] wrap of the day on delivery makes me very sad," while a second fan replied "this is the realest sign that the world is falling apart."

A third devastated McDonald's fan agreed: "No. Wait. Nah. Surely not. No. It can't be. This isn't happening. It's not a drill. I repeat not a drill."

Elsewhere, it looked like another fan had yet to learn the news. Sharing a snap of her online order, she questioned: "Where's the wrap of the day," before adding heartbroken emojis.

The Wrap of the Day deal is still available for £1.99 on the My McDonald's app if you're ordering for click and collect, even though it has been pulled from Uber Eats, Just Eat and the My McDonald's app when ordering for delivery.

The deal cuts costs on the chain's wraps, which normally cost £3.49 on their own, or £4.99 as part of a meal, and the Spicy Sriracha Chicken, The Sweet Chilli Chicken, The BBQ & Bacon Chicken, The Garlic Mayo Chicken and The Spicy Veggie are some of the flavours included.

Announcing the change on its website, the company said: "McDonalds stopped offering Wrap of the Day from delivery 2023.

"There are no current plans to bring back the Wrap of the Day offer on McDelivery or 3rd party operators."

A McDonald’s spokesperson told The Mirror: "We can confirm that we removed Wrap of the Day from delivery on 4 January.

"In 2023 customers will see more tailored offers through our app and My McDonald's Rewards and experience even more feel good moments as we introduce some new promotions.

"We are constantly listening to what our customers want from us to ensure we are always delivering great quality food combined with great value."
