McDonald's fans 'run' to Aldi for burger that tastes just like a McSpicy

Fakeaways can be the perfect solution to a tasty treat without having to splash the cash on a takeaway. Sometimes, you want to be able to cure those cravings from the comfort of your own home.

One social media user has found what is apparently the perfect alternative for a popular McDonald's burger. And the ingredients can be picked up in your local Aldi.

TikTok foodie rightguysreview has shared a ‘dupe’ for the McSpicy that you can make at home using an air fryer, reports the Manchester Evening News.

He says the Roosters Gastro Flamin' Hot Chicken Thigh Burgers from Aldi tastes just like the McDonald's favourite. And it costs just £2.45 a box.

Right Guys Reviews boasts over 1.4million followers on TikTok and shares reviews on supermarket products and must-haves. The McSpicy returned to the McDonald’s menu in the UK on February 15 after so many fans demanded its comeback.

In the video which has over 1.7m views, he says: “Right guys, don't walk to Aldi, run to Aldi. If you like the new McSpicy from McDonald's, there is the McSpicy.”

After throwing it into the air fryer for 20 minutes at 180C, he added that all you need then is lettuce, mayo and buns. A McSpicy on its own would cost you £4.79, so you would be saving money as one of the Aldi burgers would cost you roughly £1.22 per burger, a sesame brioche bun costs just over 25p a bun, and only a couple of pence more for a dollop of mayo and a shred of lettuce.

One TikTok user said: “Looks fab. But should of toasted the bun!”

Jodi, a regular Aldi burger buyer, said: “Been buying these for a year. You should toast the bun and add onion and garlic dip, burger cheese, shredded lettuce, gherkins and buffalo sauce.”
