McDonald's customer disgusted after being served drink with dirt in it

A fast food fan claims he was served a drink filled with bits of dirt from McDonald's. After enjoying an Oasis from a branch of the burger giant, the man said he took the lid off the cup to find dark specks of dirt at the bottom.

The customer, who did not want to be named, had picked up the drink from a branch of McDonald's in Earlestown in Merseyside. Disgusted by what he had discovered in his drink, the man made a complaint to the fast food chain immediately, the Liverpool Echo reports.

As well as filing the complaint, he also took to social media to warn people about what he had found, urging those who visit the branch to check their drinks. In a post, he wrote: "If you go to the Maccies in Earlestown check your drinks, not cleaned the machine in a while."

The man's vile find comes as another customer, at a McDonald's branch in Erdington, claimed to have found a fly and maggots wrapped up inside a double cheeseburger she had purchased from the drive thru. Georgia Poole said she was "utterly disgusted" at what she found after buying the burger on Tuesday, September 6.

McDonald's said they were sorry to Georgia after the vile incident. Meanwhile, the man who had the dirty drink was praised by fellow social media users for reporting what happened.

The post received hundreds of comments, many from people who had visited the branch themselves. One person said: "Good on you for complaining though. If all of you who have had bad experiences complained then they'd feel more pressure to improve things. And definitely someone contact environmental health before they make someone really ill. "

The ECHO contacted McDonald's in response to these claims. A spokesperson for the company said: "We place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections. We are sorry that on this occasion we have not met those standards.

"If any customer does have a concern, we encourage them to either speak to a member of the crew in the restaurant or get in touch with our customer services team.”
