McDonald's has 'devastated' fans across the country by announcing they've had to take their new Chicken Big Mac off the menu - just days after it was launched.
The fast-food chain launched the limited-edition burger for UK fans to try out on Wednesday, February 2 for a limited time only, but that time has been cut short.
Taking to social media to announce the news, the chain said that the new burger has proved to be so popular that it has sold out "almost everywhere."
Its the latest blow for McDonald's fans after the fast-food chain confirmed they were discontinuing the breakfast wraps and breakfast bagels.
Sharing the post on Twitter, they wrote: "Well, that escalated quickly. Your love for the limited edition Chicken Big Mac knew no bounds and it’s sold out almost everywhere.
"Thank you for lovin’ it even more than we thought you would, it’ll be back soon."
Despite confirmation that the limited-edition burger will be back, fans have taken to social media to complain at how quickly it sold out.
"Nooooo I haven't had a chance yet! I am devastated", said one gutted customer.
"Is this why my @UberEats order hasn't arrived nearly 2 hours since ordering it?", fumed another.
While a third devastated fan said: "This has broken my heart."
"I'm hoping it comes back and stays forever, chicken burgers are the the only ones I eat", said a fourth.
The limited-edition Chicken Big Mac was just one of the new items added to McDonald's menu recently, as they also confirmed the return of the popular Double Big Mac.
It was described as an "exciting twist" on the chain's signature burger and came with two crispy chicken patties instead of the classic beef patties.
Following a successful run on Australian menus, McDonald's announced its official UK arrival and called it one of their most "highly anticipated items".
It came to the menu at the same time as a whole host of returning fan-favourites - including mozzarella dippers and the Chicken Legend - as they decided to shake things up.
McDonald's has said that they are "working hard" to bring the Chicken Big Mac back to UK menus following its sell-out success, but no dates have been confirmed.
