McDonald's brings back popular menu item shoppers have begged for - and this time it's permanent

Fast food fans who love a bit of fire with their feast will be pleased to know that McDonald’s have brought back one of their most popular menu items - and this time, it’s here to stay. The global burger chain are known for their regular menu shake ups, but the brand have confirmed the latest addition is permanent.

Many thought that it would be the Chicken Big Mac that would become a regular on the order list, after a trial last summer - but no, it’s a different stack that shoppers have been begging to come back.

Returning to stores on February 15, the McSpicy will be the second chicken burger in 12 months to be added to the year-round menu, following the launch of the McCrispy. The burger will give chicken fans even more options to order, after so many demanded its comeback.

The burger features a spicy chicken breast fillet topped with crunchy lettuce and mayo between toasted sesame seed buns – and it’s a sure-fire hit for fans nationwide who have flooded McDonald’s social channels demanding the return of this much-loved menu item.

Posting on social media, a number of customers asked McDonald’s to bring back the McSpicy, with one saying: “Pleaseeee bring back the McSpicy,” and another adding: “Favourite burger, should be out all year.”

A third demanded: “Bring it back! It should be on permanent it’s the nicest thing on the menu.”

It’s caused some controversy in the past as to whether it is hot enough, but whether you think McSpicy packs the heat or gives a spicy kick, everyone is desperate to get their hands on the chicken burger.

Gráinne Allen, Director of Food and Innovation, McDonald’s UK and Ireland said: “We’re so pleased to be welcoming the McSpicy to our permanent menu across the UK and Ireland. The McSpicy brings the heat to our menu, and we hope chicken lovers across the nation are as excited about its permanence as we are.”

The McSpicy burger will be on sale in stores from February 15 for £4.79 on it’s own, or £6.29 as an extra-value meal.
