McDonald's axes four popular menu items to make way for new summer burgers

Fast- food giant McDonald's is launching a new summer menu, but it means four popular items are facing the axe.

Products like the popular McSpicy chicken burger, the Grand Big Mac, the Grand Big Mac with Bacon and Cheesy Garlic Bites will only be available to buy until June 7, reports the Mirror.

McDonald's will be serving a new Italian Stack and the Crispy Chicken Italiano as part of its Taste of Italy summer menu, from Wednesday June 8 until July 26.

The first burger consists of two beef patties, mozzarella, crispy onions, a rich tomato sauce, lettuce and cheese sauce all served within a toasted tomato and herb style bun.

The second is made up of a crispy fillet topped by a juicy tomato slice, mozzarella, a basil pesto style sauce, red onion and lettuce, and served up in its own toasted ciabatta style bun.

For dessert, Maccies fans will be able to tuck into a new tiramisu flavour McFlurry, packed with chocolate and coffee flavours.

Mozzarella dippers will make a much anticipated return to the menu on the same day.

The second phase of the new McDonald’s changes will come on July 27 and will be available until September 6.

This is when the fast food giant will introduce its Spicy Spanish Stack and Chicken Fiesta burgers as part of its Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu.

The Spicy Spanish Stack has two beef patties, chilli cheddar, red onion, spicy tomato sauce and lettuce served up in a warm paprika bun.

The Chicken Fiesta comes with a crispy chicken fillet topped with Chorizo, chilli cheddar, spicy tomato sauce, red onion and lettuce in a toasted chilli and paprika topped bun.

McDonald’s will also introduce its brand new halloumi fries side as part of the Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu.

The cheesy extra will come in a bag of four, each coated in a light batter, and served with a rich tomato dip.

Finally, McDonald's will also bring in its new Spanish Fruit Punch drink, which is described as a chilled beverage with berry and citrus flavours.
