McDonald’s axes four popular menu items but brings back fan favourites

Fast food chain McDonald’s will stop selling its summer burgers this week—but it is also reintroducing a couple of fan favourite items. You win some, you lose some.

The fast food outlet is making some major changes to its menu this week, while some popular items will be off the menu, others are making a comeback, reports The Mirror.

While McDonald’s is scrapping its Cyprus and Spanish menus, it’s bringing in some new items, as well as reviving other old classics.

So what’s the latest with the McDonald’s menu this week? Here’s everything you need to know.

Which items have been axed from the McDonald’s menu?

McDonald’s is scrapping its Cyprus and Spanish menu. From Wednesday, McDonald’s will stop selling its Spicy Spanish Stack, Chicken Fiesta, Halloumi Fries, and Spanish Fruit Punch.

However, it is bringing back its spicy chicken McNuggets on September 7, which were first on the menu in 2019.

The Spicy McNuggets will return with a brand new recipe, which the fast food chain has said will be “spicier than before”.

Fans won’t have long to enjoy the Spicy McNuggets, though, as they’ll only be on the menu until October 18.

Other items set to return include the Big Tasty burger, which is made with British and Irish beef, melted Emmental cheese, and topped with lettuce, slivered onions, and Big Tasty sauce on a sesame seed bun. The burger was first on the McDonald’s menu in 2003.

Sides and desserts set to return to the menu include Mozzarella Dippers, and Mars and Twix McFlurry milkshakes.

Alongside menu items, McDonald’s will also be bringing back its Monopoly Prize giveaway game, also on September 7.
