MCC members vote to accept 51% share in The Hundred's London Spirit

NEW DELHI: The Telegraph said on Monday that members of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) had voted in favor of taking a 51 percent stake in the London Spirit franchise of The Hundred.

At a special general meeting of the MCC, the owner of the Lord's cricket ground where London Spirit is located, 4,897 of the 6,037 votes cast were in favor of the resolution.

There has been a lot of interest in investing in the 100-ball format competition's franchises, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) plans to sell ownership of part of its eight teams within the next year.

Earlier this month, ECB CEO Richard Gould stated that the regulatory body had been in talks with over 100 parties interested in purchasing franchise stakes.
