MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association has sanctioned a pension of Rs 20,000 per month to the widows who are aged 70-plus of former Mumbai cricketers. The landmark decision - making MCA the first state unit in India to do so - was taken in the association's Apex Council meeting on Wednesday, following a request to this effect by former Mumbai captain and chief selector Milind Rege.
MCA treasurer Jagdish Achrekar told TOI that "widows over 70 will get Rs 20,000 gratis per month and those who are below 70 will get Rs 10,000 per month."
