MUMBAI: Mumbai Cricket Association president Vijay Patil will throw a celebratory dinner party on Tuesday night for the Mumbai senior team, which made it to the final of the Ranji Trophy before losing to Madhya Pradesh on Sunday by four wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
"We made it to the Ranji final after six years. The president wants to honour the team and its support staff. All the senior selectors, members of the Cricket Improvement Committee and Apex Council members, and perhaps a few top former cricketers are also likely to attend the dinner party, which will be held at a five-star hotel in Bandra," said a source.
Apex meet to 'discuss' holding postponed AGM
Meanwhile, the MCA's Apex Council will hold a meeting on June 29 to discuss holding the 85th Annual General Meeting, which was postponed in March due to IPL-2022 in Mumbai and Pune.
The third item on the agenda (TOI has a copy) of the Apex Council meeting mentions: "to discuss about holding the 85th AGM, which was postponed."
After the MCA's Apex Council postponed the AGM, a few senior members of the association conducted the 85th 'AGM' on March 19 sans the office-bearers.
As per item No 5 on the agenda, the Apex Council will also "consider distribution of prize money to groundstaff and other staff for IPL 2022."
