Monaghan were pipped by Tyrone in last season’s Ulster decider in Croke Park while Mayo lost out to the Red Hands in the All-Ireland final.
However, James Horan’s side lost out to Connacht rivals Galway in their provincial opener.
The Farney impressed in their Ulster SFC quarter-final win, hitting 0-23 against Down in Clones. However, they suffered a four-point loss to Derry in the semi-final in the Athletic Grounds.
Mayo claimed a two-point win in St Tiernach’s Park when the sides met in Division One earlier in the season, but Seamus McEnaney’s men will be keen to bounce back from their defeat to Derry.
