Maya Jama returned to the Love Island villa as the original Islanders revealed whether they wanted to stay with their partners or pick someone new to couple up with.
In dramatic scenes, the questionable behaviour of the girls and the boys was unveiled as the latest couples were decideded.
For the first time in Love Island's history, the existing Islanders were forced to face the consequences of their actions one by one as Maya questioned the Casa Amor girls after each recoupling.
In a Reddit forum, one Love Island fan spotted a trick the Love Island host used to ramp up the tension to create one of the most dramatic Casa Amor recouplings yet.
They wrote: "In my opinion (take it as you will), this has to be one of the best Casa recouplings we’ve seen in a while. I think we can owe this to Maya.
Instead of the drama starting at the end of the recoupling, Maya drawing out each couple one by one was pure genuis. This allowed for drama to be unfolded each couple at a time. This is exactly what the show has needed … for a while."
The fan later added: "I know it was producer driven, but the little questions she asked really let more drama unfold."
Another agreed: "This has genuinely been the best Casa Amor recoupling alongside S5. The only difference is, I don't think this year will top or even come close to S5's aftermath," and a third added: "Oh I don't know, I think if the showed the full casa recoupling in one episode there must be a major fallout to come, they must have some footage to bring us."
Someone else shared: "I really appreciated the incorporation of the casa girls throughout the recoupling instead of waiting until the end for a one-off comment. It was more dramatic and more respectful of the Casa islanders."
In Thursday's explosive episode, Tanya left Shaq single by choosing to recouple with Martin while Will found himself in hot water for his Casa Amor antics despite sticking with his original partner Jessie.
Olivia and Kai both decided to recouple with Maxwell and Sanam respectively but the notoriously flirty Ron remained with Lana.
Both Tom and Casey enjoyed getting to know the new Casa Amor girls but both decided to stick with their original partners Samie and Claudia respectively.
