Maya Jama amazes fans with picture of her lookalike nan in sweet family snap

Love Island host Maya Jama has shown good genes clearly run in the family as she shared a snap of her grandmother and father.

In the family snap, Maya revealed she gets her iconic good looks from her grandmother as she told fans she is "my nan's twin".

The 28-year-old, who will present Love Island next month after being a hit on the Winter Love Island earlier this year, shared the family picture on her Instagram with her 2.7 million followers.

Sharing a video as she zoned in on the old image, Maya told fans: "There's my dad when he was little, there's my nan, looking like me...

"And granddad! Looking smug as a mug."

Writing across the video on her Instagram Stories, Maya wrote: "Flinging this back because I'm slyly my nan's twin."

In the snap, Maya's grandmother can be seen sat as she poses for the photograph in a floral dress and holds up her son, Maya's father. The resemblance between Maya and her paternal grandmother is uncanny, with similar facial features and stunning cheekbones.

The throwback snap was shared just as news of Maya Jama's comedy show on ITV2 is facing the axe from ITV bosses.

Don’t Hate The Playaz is facing an uncertain future after rumours swirling that it isn't being renewed for a fifth series.

After running for four seasons, the programme has featured Maya Jama as a team captain alongside presenter Jordan Stephens and other team captain Lady Leshurr.

Whilst rumours over the show's future continue, a spokesperson for ITV told The Sun : "We are proud of the multi-award winning success of Don't Hate the Playaz and will be exploring future plans for the series in due course."

Maya is currently busy getting ready to host the summer series of Love Island, as it begins on June 5th in the Spanish villa for its 10th series.

Maya took over as host for the reality dating show with the Winter series earlier this year, and ITV bosses have confirmed the TV presenter will continue for the summer series too.

The summer series will see the Majorca villa after its undergone a renovation and glow up as it gets ready to welcome singletons, coupling up and plenty of romance drama for ITV2.
