May Bank Holiday weekend supermarket opening hours for Dunnes, Lidl, Tesco, SuperValu and Aldi

Supermarkets will likely be hit by opening hour changes over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

Stores will likely open later over the long weekend, which could catch some shoppers out. Opening hours for individual stores can typically be checked out using the shop's online locator.

Here are the expected opening hours for some of Ireland's biggest retailers.

Aldi

Aldi usually opens from 9am-9pm on bank holiday weekends. However, this can vary depending on individual stores. Customers are encouraged to check out the retailer's store finder.

Lidl

Lidl follows a similar pattern with opening hours of 9am-9pm on Bank Holiday weekends.

Dunnes Stores

Individual Dunnes Stores operate on different timetables. It is best to check instore at your local branch to find out when the retailer will be opening on the May Bank Holiday.

Tesco

Although it varies by store, Tesco's schedule usually remains unaffected by the changes brought on by the long weekend. Trading on Bank Holiday Monday usually amounts to the same hours as a typical weekday.

Supervalu

SuperValu stores operate under individual opening hours, with some stores opening from 7.30am to 10pm and others 8am to 10pm. You can find your local supermarket using their store locator here.
