As ever, a Bank Holiday brings with it significant changes to shop trading hours. Retailers tend to shut up shop over long weekends so that staff can get some well deserved time off.
Brits will be treated to three Bank Holiday weekends in May. Kicking things off is the annual May Day Bank Holiday on Monday, May 1. Then on the following Monday May 8, they will get another day off in celebration of King Charles' Coronation. There’s also the Late May Bank Holiday which will land on Monday, May 29.
Several shops across Wales will change their opening hours during the May Bank Holidays. These include DIY stores such as B&M, Home Bargains, Wilko and The Range. But how exactly will these stores be affected? Here’s everything you need to know.

B&M
Stores are set to open as usual during the May Bank Holidays but trading times vary depending on the store. Most branches in Wales open at 8am and close at 8pm although there are some that open later and shut earlier. You can find your store here.
Home Bargains
Home Bargains has confirmed that all stores will be operating between the hours of 9am and 6pm during all May bank holidays. The store has said that this will be the case unless there are local restrictions or shopping centres wanting to close.
Wilko
The majority of Wilko stores will operate between 9am and 5pm on each of the May Bank Holidays. However, the retailer recommends shoppers check the opening times online as there will be some local variations.
The Range
All Welsh The Range stores will be open as usual during the May Bank Holidays. It's important to note that opening times differ between stores locally, with some branches operating between 8.30am and 8pm, and others 9am to 8pm.
