Max George has described carrying Tom Parker 's coffin as an "honour," in a further tribute to his late bandmate.
Tom - who had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2020 - sadly passed away last month at the age of 33, with his funeral held on Wednesday (April 20).
Among those in attendance were his bandmates in T he Wanted, including Max, 33 - with them carrying the coffin into Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church in Petts Wood.
Max opened up about the experience on Instagram yesterday, in which he shared that he felt honoured to have been able to support Tom in such a way at the service.
He wrote: "Good night beautiful boy. I will always think of you. Thanks for making my life so much better than I could ever have hoped for. Carrying you was an honour."
Max further commented in the recent post: "You have carried me so many times over the last 12 years. I love you Tom." He concluded by writing: "See you up there brother."
Alongside the caption, the singer shared a series of photos from the service, including one which showed him and bandmate Jay McGuiness, 31, carrying the coffin.
He also shared photos of floral tributes to father-of-two Tom, with one of them being a heart shaped arrangement that had the musician's name written in the centre.
The post has amased more than a hundred thousand likes on the platform, with it prompting responses from fellow celebrities and fans who expressed condolences.
Martine McCutcheon wrote: "Beautiful words. You have such a big heart and was the bestest friend anyone could have wished for. [...] Sending you all my love darling."
Union J member Josh Cuthbert took to the comments section to write to Max: "Beautiful words mate. He will be waiting for you with open arms. Love ya man."
Max and his bandmates joined mourners, including Tom's wife Kelsey Parker, 32, at the private service held for the late singer earlier this week in Petts Wood.
Tom's coffin was carried inside the church as Champagne Supernova by Oasis played, with a soft piano version of Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On played earlier.
The musician was laid to rest surrounded by loved ones after being driven through the picturesque Petts Wood, with fans having lined the streets to pay their respects to him.
