Amid a pivotal offseason that’s already seen the team re-sign star point guard Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks apparently are still considering adding to their roster with a key trade to boost the backcourt.
Dallas is reportedly considering “revisiting” trade discussions to acquire Pistons forward Bojan Bogdanovic, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. The Mavericks have reportedly been shopping wing Tim Hardaway Jr., and have been linked to Bogdanovic for some time now, yet have not been able to agree to terms on a swap.
Bogdanovic would provide valuable shooting and add to Dallas’s perimeter attack. The nine-year veteran is coming off a career year with the Pistons in which he set a new high by averaging 21.6 points per game while hitting on 41.1% of his three-point attempts. Bogdanovic, 34, has two years and $39 million remaining on his contract.
Hardaway spent time shifting back and forth between the starting lineup and a bench role last season, averaging 14.4 points and 3.5 rebounds across 71 games (45 starts). He shot 38.5% from three-point range, and has two years and $34 million left on his deal.
