Mauricio Pochettino plays down Tanguy Ndombele speculation amid PSG transfer links

Tanguy Ndombele's long-term future at Tottenham has been in doubt for a while, but his time at the club does appear to be nearing an end.

football.london reported last week that Ndombele has been training on his own in recent days, away from the rest of the Tottenham first team squad at Hotspur Way.

The 25-year-old Frenchman was left out of Antonio Conte 's squad to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday night.

That came after Ndombele incurred the wrath of the Tottenham fans during Sunday's FA Cup tie against Morecambe, walking slowly off the pitch when he was substituted for Oliver Skipp with the team 1-0 down and only appearing to slow down further when the supporters started booing.

He walked straight off down the tunnel before later returning to the Spurs dugout for the game's final stages.

Ndombele looks surplus to requirements at Tottenham and has subsequently been linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants, PSG, to play under Mauricio Pochettino, the man who brought him to north London.

However, the Argentine has played down those links, but has admitted that the Parisians are keen to add to their squad.

"I don't like to talk about rumors and players who are not in our club," he said, as cited by journalist Hadrien Grenier on Twitter.

"We have high quality players, the club has done a great job this summer. The transfer window is open. The club is listening and seeing what's going on."

Ndombele signed for a club record £55million in 2019, but his time at Tottenham looks to be all but done.

Spurs will be hoping they can find a solution to the situation as quickly as possible.
