Mauricio Pochettino and Frank Lampard among names tipped for Leeds job after Jesse Marsch sacked

The latest managerial casualty in the Premier League has come at Elland Road where Leeds United have sacked Jesse Marsch. Following their 1-0 defeat to fellow relegation candidates Nottingham Forest, Marsch leaves the job with the Whites in 17th, only out of the bottom three on goal difference.

His dismissal comes just two weeks after Frank Lampard was sacked by Everton following their poor run of form. Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche was subsequently brought in and on his managerial debut at Goodison Park he guided the Toffees to a monumental victory against Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Following the dismissal of another top-flight manager, rumours and speculation are beginning to rise over who will take the hot seat at Elland Road following Marsch's exit. Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, as he normally is, has been outlined as one of the favourites along with only one more name currently employed by another club in the top five favourites.

According to SkyBet, Carlos Corberan, who is manager of West Brom, is the favourite at 6/4 with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino down at 13/2. Marcelo Bielsa, who was replaced by Marsch at Leeds, joins former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl at 9/1 with Postecoglou bringing up the rear of the top five at 10/1.

Pochettino has been linked with a sensational return to Tottenham on many occasions after he was sacked by the club in November 2019. Paris Saint-Germain were his most recent employers, although he was dismissed from that role last summer. The future of Antonio Conte has consistently been up for debate with uncertainty surrounding whether or not a one-year contract extension will be triggered with his current deal up at the end of the season.

Further down the list, notable names such as Andrea Pirlo, Rafa Benitez, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are all included. Lampard only left his position in Merseyside a fortnight ago after a stuttering run of results which saw Everton not pick up one victory following the resumption of the season after the World Cup.

The former Chelsea boss is unlikely to straight back into the managerial fold, although Pochettino could land the job with his odds slashed once Leeds had officially confirmed the departure of Marsch. Corberan remains the strong favourite though with West Brom just inside the Championship play-off places.

Here is the full list of managers and there odds currently listed on SkyBet:
