Maura Higgins has made the decision to up her security measures after a terrifying raid at her home in Essex.
The former Love Island star, 32, was left 'shaken' after three masked men ripped down one of the gates at her apartment complex and attempted to steal a number of vehicles from the carpark, it has been reported.
Police were called to Maura's apartment complex in Essex - where Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan also live - in the early hours of Wednesday morning,
A gang broke open the large metal gate by shaking it, and attempted to break into a number of cars.
"Maura was shaken up. Neighbours caught it all on CCTV and it was chilling to see three masked men ram through the gates and start trying to break into cars," a source revealed.
"Maura has lived in her gated community for three years and said she no longer feels safe.
“There are a number of high- profile names in that complex and living in that area. It is worrying for everyone, including Maura.
“The complex has a real community feel so they are all supporting each other and the CCTV has been shared around.
“Maura is upping security on her car and at her home," the source added to The Sun.
The Mirror has reached out to Maura's representatives for comment.
Irish bombshell Maura shot to fame on Love Island back in 2019, where she met her now best friend, Molly-Mae Hague.
Following the raid, Maura took herself on a getaway to central London on Saturday night where she got all dolled up for a special dinner with friends.
By coincidence, Maura happened to be enjoying a meal at the same restaurant as Molly-Mae as the pals were accidentally seated near one another.
Molly-Mae's boyfriend, Tommy Fury, had treated her to a luxurious getaway in her favourite London hotel as a sweet birthday surprise, not knowing that her best friend Maura would also be dining at the same eatery.
Sharing some insight into the happy coincidence on Instagram, Molly-Mae shared a cute snap with Maura who was seated right behind her in the restaurant.
Since appearing on Love Island, Maura has gone on to host a number of segments on This Morning and she has also fronted the BBC ’s show Glow Up Ireland.
