Maul – Shadow Lord director teases that Maul's Star Wars Rebels death might not be permanent: "You never know"

Shadow Lord Darth Maul
Sam Witwer as Darth Maul in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord.

It looks like Maul could rise from the dead once again, as Maul – Shadow Lord supervising director Brad Rau teases that the ex-Sith's death in Star Wars Rebels might not be so permanent.

In Rebels, Maul tracks down Obi-Wan Kenobi – who seemingly killed him in The Phantom Menace – on Tatooine, and the two duel once more. This time, though, Obi-Wan kills Maul for good (Shadow Lord is set before Rebels on the Star Wars timeline).
