Matty Matheson, known for his role as handyman Neil on The Bear, has a successful background in the culinary world. Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Matty operates 11 restaurants across the country. In addition to his restaurant ventures, he has a popular cooking channel on YouTube and has hosted various Vice food series such as It's Suppertime and Dead Set on Life.
His culinary expertise led him to become an executive producer on The Bear, where he advises on the culinary aspects of the show. Despite his culinary prowess, Matty recently revealed that he had no interest in playing a chef on the series. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he shared that the show's creator initially approached him for his expertise but later offered him the role of the handyman, which Matty gladly accepted.
The Bear has garnered critical acclaim, winning Best Comedy at the Emmys and Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Matty accepted the award on behalf of the cast and crew at the Emmys and also received the Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy at the Producers Guild Awards. The series is currently filming its third season, as announced by one of the cast members at the SAG Awards.
