Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is one of the world’s most prolific sports bettors. Over the past five months, he’s also one of the worst.
Mack’s seven-figure bets have made repeated headlines over the past few years. Lately, he’s been wrong on all of them. There was $3.6 million riding on the Astros in the 2021 World Series. He threw down more than $6 million on Alabama to win the 2022 College Football Playoff. He dropped more than $2 million on a New England Patriots futures Super Bow bet, only to see that evaporate at the hands of Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
This all bodes very poorly for the Cincinnati Bengals. McIngvale opted to place a $4.5 million wager on the AFC’s representative to win straight-up at Super Bowl 56 as a 4.5-point underdog.
The Return of the Mack for the Super Bowl‼️@MattressMack just wagered $4,534,000 on the #CaesarsSportsbook app in Louisiana on the Bengals (+170) to win over the Rams.
Potential win: $7,707,800

If it hits, he’ll win more than $7.7 million. If he loses, he can write it off as a promotional expense.
The Texas-based bedroom accessory magnate has made a name for himself as one of America’s most prolific gamblers because he’s found a way fold his gambling into the chain of furniture stores he owns. If his wager hits, he’ll refund his customers’ recent purchases of at least $3,000. If it doesn’t, he’s out his pocket money … but up however much in sales from anyone who jumped at his promotion.
Lately, Mack’s customers have gone on a cold streak with nothing but pressed-board nightstands and Sleep Number mattresses to show for it. If Joe Burrow can come through one more time, however, their bedroom sets will be free — after a little paperwork.
