If you’re looking through the ratings for quarterbacks in “Madden NFL 24”, you’re going to be scrolling for a while before reaching Matthew Stafford’s name. Not only does he have an overall rating of 75, but he’s not even one of the 20 best quarterbacks in the game.
He’s tied with Daniel Jones as the 21st-highest-rated quarterback in Madden 24, only one point higher than rookie Bryce Young, who is a 74 overall in his first appearance in the game. Among the quarterbacks rated higher than Stafford are Ryan Tannehill (76), Jimmy Garappolo (77), Derek Carr (78) and Jared Goff (80).
There’s no question Stafford is coming off a bad 2022 season, but that was partly out of his control. His offensive line was abysmal and inconsistent, while he was also without Van Jefferson at receiver for most of the year. Stafford also missed eight games himself due to a concussion and back injury.
It’s quite the drop-off from last year for the Rams quarterback, who was an 85 overall in Madden 23. What’s particularly shocking is that Stafford’s throw power rating of 92 only puts him 13th among quarterbacks in Madden 24. His arm strength is widely regarded as one of the best in the league, making that rating pretty questionable.

As for the Rams’ other quarterbacks, Stetson Bennett is a 62 overall, followed by Brett Rypien (57) and Dresser Winn (50).
